Overview

A small market with outsized purchasing power

Kuwait sits at the head of the Arabian Gulf with some of the largest proven oil reserves on earth and one of the oldest sovereign wealth funds in the world.

Its private sector is dominated by long-established family trading houses that hold exclusive distribution rights for international brands — the natural first partner for an American exporter.

Kuwait is also one of the most open consumer markets in the Gulf, with high per-capita spending on food, retail, healthcare, automotive and technology.
